What we ask for, and what we do with it.

The summary: we ask for the minimum each time. Your email, if you subscribe. Your contact details and invoices, only if you request an audit. We never pass them on for commercial purposes.

Data controller

SwissIntel Consulting GmbH, registered at Dorfplatz 4, 6330 Cham (ZG), Switzerland. For data matters, use the email address in the footer.

What we collect

If you subscribe to Insights: your email address. Nothing else. We do not ask for your name, company or phone number.

If you write to us: whatever you include in your message — usually your email, your name and what you tell us about the project.

If you request an invoice audit: name, business, email, phone, business type, tariff and the invoices you send us. Invoices contain supply data — address, supply point code, contracted power and consumption — and, for sole traders, personal data too.

If you request battery documents: name, company, email, your profile (installer, distributor, end customer or other) and the documents you tick. We use them only to send you the documents and answer your request.

When you browse: our hosting provider records aggregated technical access data, such as browser type and country. We use no tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not share your browsing with social networks.

What we use it for

Your subscription email is used solely to send you the newsletter. Before we send you anything, we write to confirm that it was really you who signed up.

The data in your message is used to reply to you and, if a commercial relationship follows, to manage it.

The data and invoices from an audit are used solely to prepare your report and discuss it with you.

Legal basis

Your consent, in the case of the newsletter. Steps taken at your request prior to a contract, together with your explicit consent, when you request an audit. The performance of a pre-contractual or contractual relationship, when you write about a project. Our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and operational, in the case of technical logs.

How long we keep it

Your subscription email, until you unsubscribe. Audit invoices, for as long as the analysis takes; if no commercial relationship follows, we delete them within 12 months at most. Commercial correspondence, for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the period required by applicable accounting and tax rules.

Who else sees it

Netlify, Inc., which hosts the site and receives the forms, and Proton AG, our email provider in Switzerland. They act as processors and may only use the data to provide us with that service. We do not sell or transfer data to third parties for commercial purposes.

We are a Swiss company and may process data in Switzerland and in the European Union. Switzerland holds an adequacy decision from the European Commission, so transfers between the two territories require no additional safeguards. Netlify may process data in the United States: it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension.

Your rights

You may ask us for access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, restriction of processing, its portability, and you may object to processing. Write to us and we will respond.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter you do not need to write: every send carries a one-click unsubscribe link.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may complain to the supervisory authority in your country — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date below. If the change affects how we use your email, we will tell you beforehand through the newsletter itself.
